This powerful, heavy duty Rutlands® planer delivers rapid stock removal and precise smoothing and flattening of solid wood surfaces. Powered by a 650W motor, two 82mm long lasting tungsten-carbide blades rotate at 17,000rpm, powering through solid wood to leave an excellent, level finish far superior to single bladed planers. Whether trimming doors, windows, framing or for more coarse work, in the workshop or on site, this planer ensures a consistent and professional finish every time.

The 285 x 75mm precision machined aluminium base ensures accuracy whilst planing, with a smooth friction-free finish to glide effortlessly across the workpiece. A V groove guide in the front base plate provides quick registration against a corner edge when chamfering. The depth of cut is quickly set, from 0mm to 2.5mm per pass, with a twist of the front mounted depth adjustment knob. Clear, easy to read graduations every 0.1mm allow for fine, accurate control over the depth adjustment.

The planer features a standard on/off switch and is equipped with a lock-on button for continuous use, ideal for extended operation. A spring loaded kick stand to the rear of the base elevates the rear of the planer, allowing it rest freely with no risk of damage or marking to the workpiece or blades. The supplied straight edge guide locks within the body of the unit, keeping the planer flush with the workpiece edge, ideal for rebating. Two mounting holes on the side of the guide allow for the fixing of a wooden sub-fence, should the length of the guide need to be extended. A side mounted dust port ensures optimum chip ejection, away from the working area, and can be connected directly to a dedicated dust extractor or shop vacuum. The planer is supplied with a socket wrench, a blade setting gauge for easy blade installation and a blade sharpening holder, to present the blade at the correct angle to a sharpening stone when honing. ©
